Spring into Action: 5 Ways to Re-Energize Your Brand

May is around the corner and it might be time for a marketing refresh.

Are you in desperate need of a jolt of energy, but lack the inspiration and confidence to pull it together?

After a long winter, spring brings a renewed sense of vitality and motivation. In this season, the marketplace is primed and ready to buy from brands that are energized and ready to take on 2023 with boldness.

Your potential customers are looking for new and innovative products or services that speak their language and meet their changing needs. If your brand fails to grab their attention, they may look for other brands to work with who are updated and relevant.

The good news? It doesn’t take a huge budget or a team of 25 to bring a renewed sense of energy and vibrancy to your brand! Spring into action by implementing these five steps that will help your brand stand out:

  1. Shake things up with a bold new campaign. Try a new campaign that breaks the mold and grabs attention, such as a social media challenge, a fun giveaway, a virtual summit or a masterclass.

A great example of this comes from my client Gina Michal of Gina Michal Homes. Gina leads a “Take a Drive” campaign where she records live video of different NJ neighborhoods and drives you through the towns while sharing schools, parks, restaurants and boutiques.

What type of marketing effort can you take to increase interest and loyalty to your brand or products?

  2. Collaborate with other aligned brands or influencers. Join forces with other like-minded brands or influencers to create a buzz and reach new audiences. By pooling your resources and connections, you can amplify your message and increase your impact.

In my own business, I host a free, virtual event 1-2 times a month called the Brand Power Hour. These events include time with a guest expert who shares their expertise with my audience to help them boost their brands, and also a facilitated discussion around the topic. This allows participants to get a taste for what it’s like to work with me as a client.

*Sign up to attend the next Brand Power Hour taking place tomorrow, April 27th! We will be chatting with Hannah Curtis about How to Say NO Without Guilt.

Who could you collaborate with to bring additional value to your audience and in turn, build your own influence and authority?

  3. Refresh your brand messaging. Your brand message should always reflect your expertise, your purpose and your values. It should speak clearly and directly to your ideal customer. Use this season to refresh your messaging and align it with your purpose.

Here’s an example: After working together on her niche, my client Kim Macumber Interiors discovered that her passion and expertise was in whole-house interior design. She loved helping her clients define a signature style for their entire home. With this new, more specific direction, Kim is now working with a web designer to update her website to reflect this new message.

What updates could you make to your website, bio, or other channels to reflect the most current version of YOU — your skills, purpose and values?

4. Offer new products or services. Are your current offerings feeling tired and lacking innovation? As an entrepreneur, it is essential to continuously innovate and give your customers a reason to come back by offering new products or services.

My client Cyndi Prince, founder of Loo-Hoo dryer balls, routinely introduces new colors and gift sets that are associated with the current season or holiday to bring customers back again and again. You can see this example in action HERE in Cyndi’s April Color Twist set that’s inspired by the bright blue spring skies, crocuses, and daffodils that are popping up and splashing color all around.

What additions could you make to your offerings to bring a renewed excitement to your industry and fit with your brand's overall mission?

5.Host a special event or promotion. Bring some excitement to your brand by hosting a special event or promotion. By creating unique experiences for customers, you can generate buzz, increase brand awareness, and ultimately drive sales. These types of events will also help you to connect with them on a more personal level.

My client Rebecca Ryan of Serving up Social is a great example of this type of innovation. Rebecca is not only a talented brand photographer, but she also hosts The Fempreneur meetup  on a quarterly basis. This event allows women in business to gather and network in person.

What type of special event, sale or giveaway could you host this spring to re-engage with your audience?
